Stage 1’s first production, "The Impossible Years", was directed by Al Fink in November 1988 and was performed in a high school auditorium. In 1992, Stage 1 moved to a new facility in Newark, and moved, once again, in 1999 to Newark Memorial High School. At the end of the 2002 season, Stage 1 had presented more than 100 productions, a figure which includes staged readings, joint ventures with other performing groups, and rentals.
We consider that quite an accomplishment (if we do say so ourselves!). But we're not resting on our laurels. Look for many more exciting productions from Stage 1 this year and in the future.
