everything must end

And lo, it must end. That is the way of things, the way of shows. They end, and then the cast, who once spent what seemed like every waking moment together, scatters to the winds, never to come together in just that way again. We will all go off to other places. We will nurse our colds, we will wash our tights, we will be in other shows, but this one will be graven upon our hearts forever.

Thank you to the cast and crew and orchestra and production team of Titanic.

This was one doozy of a show!

Madrigal a brilliant success!

After a very long day, and many cups of wassail, another lovely Madrigal performance is over. I have to say that I shall miss my acapella cohorts and seeing them every sunday for rehearsal.

But on to new things. Next up is another Holiday show, written and directed by Ron Lytle. The show is only running for two performances, and tickets are on sale now. Click the apple for more information------>

And after that, Titanic in Concert opens January 14. The show is cast, and we’ve just finished the first of an intense six weeks of rehearsal. So far, rehearsals are going very well, and this promises to be a truly remarkable show. For a cast list, click the Titanic logo.

The Stage 1 Awards Show and Silent Auction is approaching, and the last day to get tickets and ensure you are there to see the winners and your Stage 1 Friends is MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, so hurry and get those tickets! ANOTHER NEW LOOK

That’s right. Since we didn’t have enough to do with planning the Awards and Silent Auction, or getting ready for Cinderella to open on October 1, or geting ready for Titanic and That’s Our Snow White auditions, we’re redoing the site! Never a group to rest on our laurels, we believe in constantly improving.

So go get some season tickets!

There is much happening around the ‘ol the-ater these days. We’re getting ready to have our annual Awards Show and Silent Auction, wherein we will celebrate the achievements of our casts, production staffs, and orchestras. The authoress is actually nominated a couple of times, which is way cool. Makes me want to go aout and design some more sets!

It’s all about the season

Our new season, that is.
But first of all - click above for tickets to the fabulous 13 the musical, starring some very talented actors, singers, and dancers. It opens this friday and only plays for four shows, so hurry and get your tickets!

Auditions for Cinderella are done, and will open on October 1. The next show is Titanic in Concert, opening in Januarys 2011, and The Wedding Singer follows in July 2011.

And another bit of good news, the theatre will have new curtains in August! Go Us!

Kids, teens, and auditions

What a month this is! There are lots of doings this seventh month of 2010.

Opening July 16 (that’s this Friday!) is Alice in Wonderland Jr., and on July 30, the Musical “13”. Click on the art to the right for information and tickets. There are only 4 shows of each, so get ‘em while they’re hot.

Auditions for Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella will also happen this month, Starting July 19th, click the golden starburst for more info....

costume cleanup, and other stuff

I’ve been horribly remiss in updating the Stageblog. We have a few things coming up:

costume spring cleaning - at the NMHS theatre, we’re weeding out our vast collection of apparel for imaginary people, bring trash bags and trucks. we’ll be donating appropriately in shape stuff that’s “weeded”. May 15th, 10 am, NMHS theatre.

Wings of War - A musical tribute to the music and moves of yore (30‘s and 40‘s)May 15 and 16, 2 shows only, click the flag for info.

KIDS SHOWS! - Alice in Wonderland Junior for little kids, and 13 the musical for not so little kids (but under 18, please.) Click links to the right for more info.

Another show is done

It’s always sad when a show ends. After the weeks of super closeness, nerves and triumphs, we’re ready to jump right into another show. That would be It’s Only A Play, by Terence McNally. This promises to be a stellar cast, and they sure are photogenic.

In fact, I think I might have to ask everyone from now on to post for publicity shots. That might become prohibitive with larger casts, but this one was fun!

The show runs for four full weeks in the Black Box, which means that it’s likely that it will sell out - so get your tickets soon!

And the view from the Orchestra Pit was damned funny. Good thing the Musical director reminded us that we should be watching him, or I‘d still be sitting there chortling.

I’m continually amazed what a good audience will do for a show that was merely amusing the tenth time you’ve seen it. The energy was infectious, and the laughter was loud.

Thank goodness for the Stage 1 Community.

If you didn’t make it tonight, we have seven more performances, come on out and give us your energy, we promise we’ll make you laugh. But leave the small kids at home, this is a mature show.
