"I can see that you’ve got quite a mind for your age! Why, one Think and you dragged me right onto the stage! Now, I’m here, there is no telling what may ensue With a Cat such as me, and a Thinker like you!" So says the mischievous Cat in the Hat at the onset of this fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once On This Island, and Ragtime) have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie and all of the Whos of Whoville! These classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by Jojo, a young boy and “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages. Based on the hilarious film "Some Like It Hot", two down-on-their-luck musicians, Joe & Jerry, by chance witness the infamous St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago. To hide from the mob who wants to rub out the hapless witnesses, our boys disguise themselves as female musicians and join an all-girl band headed for Florida. And from that point on, it's non-stop laughs, music, dancing, and wonderful songs! SUGAR will be presented September 5-20, 2008. Click here for a cast list!

Stage 1 will be presenting the following shows in the 2007-2008 season: The Sound of Music (September 7-22, 2007) The Full Monty (January 11-26, 2008) Steel Magnolias - Black Box Production (February 22-March 8, 2008) Cabaret (June 13-28, 2008) *Seussical* (children's production) (July 18-27, 2008) The Children's Production is presented by Stage 1 Children's Theatre.
